The week is over and the testing is over, and surprisingly it is raining! Memorial Day weekend is upon is, yet it's in the 50s. Hmm. Interesting.

Yeah, Nets. Up 3-0 over the Pistons, whom I now despise because I thought they sucked and did not really deserve to win the Sixers series, though neither did the Sixers I guess. And can someone tell me why the Draft Lottery was on during primetime? Hey, if I want to watch a bunch of ping pong balls, I can watch the lottery every damn night at 7:59 or whatever it is, and with that lottery, I have a chance to win money. What do I get with the other? Oh, I get to see the horrible teams that will ruin the careers of several young athletes.

In other sports news, I was happy the Jays beat the Yankees last night, and my boy Shannon Stewart had a nice offensive game. I hate the Yankees, but I like Bernie Williams, and that stinks that he got hurt. Oh well.

Bring on Sunday and Monday and some good BBQ, because Saturday is going to be a washout. Tonight calls for pizza and either watching the Family Guy DVD or the Jays game-the usual motionless, blimp-like Friday night. What a way to kick off the weekend!

Today was a poop day overall because the testing consisted of two 25-minute sections and a 50 minute section. It was long and boring. Way too much for kids to do, especially when it's reading and writing. I was reading this book that I am supposed to read to my class every day called The Cay while they were testing. It's about a boy who gets shipwrecked on an island in the Caribbean during World War 2 with a man who worked on a boat. They ended up becoming friends despite cultural differences and overcome lots of challenges and stuff. It was a really good book. I was surprised by it. Anyway, math tomorrow and Friday and then it's done. Just in time for the long weekend, in which it's supposed to rain again. So the GHT games may be pushed back or cancelled. It's par for the course for this baseball season.

Speaking of baseball, MLB 2004 is a very fun and addictive game. I guess in part because it's challenging and I haven't had a baseball video since the untouchable by comparison Baseball Stars for Nintendo. What a classic that was! Anyway, my record in a regular season schedule so far is 8-18. It's pretty terrible, but I actually feel relieved when I can actually win a game, while in Baseball Stars, everyone on my team was powered up to their max in every category and I would 10-run rule the opposing team just about every game.

I had a really dirty dinner at Olive Garden tonight. The dish was called the Mixed Grill and consisted of grilled chicken and Italian sausage with roasted potatoes and vegetables in a rosemary seasoning. That was really good. Then I came home and watched the Simpsons reruns. As usual, it was the same episodes that I had seen no more than a month ago. That really bothers me. They've made over 300 episodes of the show, but it seems they show the same episodes over and over. Believe me, nothing puts a damper on my day more than turning on channel 5 at 6:30 or 7 pm, and seeing "Treehouse of Horror," especially when it's May.

I saw the new Matrix movie, but thought it was rather dumb. I loved the original movie, but I thought this one was corny and it took an hour and a half for anything to happen. When something finally happened, it was a really good action scene, but otherwise nothing great. The ending was also not so great. I know the other movie is coming out in November, but the way it ended was abrupt. I was disappointed, especially since I wanted to see it so badly. Oh well.

I also decided to make a rather impulsive purchase on Saturday. I now own Playstation 2. The price dropped again, so I jumped on it. I've wanted it for a while, but never had the money for it. I'm pretty sure that some new, advanced video game system will be out soon, because every time I buy a new system, it's obsolete. For instance, we got Nintendo just before Genesis came out. We got Genesis just before Playstation. I got Playstation and within a year or so, PS2 and Xbox came out. We'll see what happens next.

I was looking through a Brookstone magazine the other day and saw that they have arcade game machines like Ms. Pac-Man and Centipede. I've always wanted to own one of those things when I have a house, but was saddened when the price was $3,000. Yeesh.

The new testing has begun today in school. It is very boring for me, and very much to ask 4th graders to sit still and not talk for nearly 2 hours for 4 straight days. What can you do?

Hello people. If anyone has read the blog from May 17th before today, I want to say I was stupid for posting something personal that I shouldn't have. I was angry and was blinded by how this blog should have nothing to do with some things in my life. So I wanted to say sorry mainly to my girlfriend. This was a mistake. I did not think of how it could affect the situation before I posted.

My first official GHT game occurred today, and it was a pretty good game. Depaul beat Wayne Valley 5-1. It didn't feel like the end of May because it was in the 50s, but baseball nonetheless. So it's nice to get some extra income at least for this one game. I'm gonna go watch game 7 of the Kings/Mavs series now.

Our weekend starts on Wednesday. It really does. It's May 14th and I have yet to do a game with GHT. You see, this past Saturday would have been my first this season, but on my way up there, my car overheated two times, so I had to get towed. Yippee. It's back and functioning for now, but who knows what will strike next? Well, there is a game this Saturday, so we'll see what happens. If it doesn't rain, then I'm sure something will prevent me from doing the game. We shall see.

Only 24 more days of teaching left for me. That's sounds like very little, especially since there are 4 days of standardized testing next week, there's a field trip in June, and the last 3 days are half days. So it's actually a lot less I guess.

I really hope the Sixers can pull out a victory tonite to jump a game up on the Pistons. I am very happy the Lakers are down, but I'm sure the Spurs will find a way to lose the series. I ordered Sports Illustrated a while ago, but I'm still waiting for my Syracuse basketball gift package.

My brain automatically shuts down after 4 pm, so I cannot write anything else intelligent. bye.

My car is green. No, I did not get it painted from it's ultra-mellow gray, but it is covered in pollen or whatever you call that stuff that is just about everywhere now. I think I'm starting to get a little better, but not too much because my sinuses are clogged from allergies and this cold that I can't seem to shake off. I stayed home all weekend literally, and only went out of the house yesterday to pick up my dinner from the pizza place, but I'm still not 100 percent...I got a new air conditioner in my room, which is nice because it has a digital thermometer instead of "hi and low." I actually used it last night on a moderate setting, not because it was warm out, but for the past two weeks, I've been getting a natural alarm clock courtesy of the annoying birds ouside my window at 5 am. I didn't get that this morning; instead, I kept hearing the ac click on and off because it was getting too cold in my room.

I got home rather early from school today, basically because one of the other 4th grade teachers wasn't in this afternoon and the other was working with the 5th grades on their play. So I did a few things and left at 3:10. The earliest I've ever left, and school ends at 2:25. So I got home and did my bowflex. That monstrosity actually works, I will admit. I'm not going to look like those guys on the commercial, but that's because I don't take steroids and also because I don't eat as well as I should, but it definitely tones you. I guess I was already skinny, so it's not like I want to lose weight. I actually have been trying to gain weight, but it's damn hard. Believe me, I eat plenty. I've had the thing for I guess a year now, and I've gained maybe 10 pounds. I'm sure when I'm older and fat I won't be complaining about not being able to gain weight.

I purchased tickets to see No Motiv over the weekend. I've been a fan of theirs for 5 years or so, and have never been able to see them. Of course their only opening for another band, but it's better than nothing.

I have to say, I do not enjoy being sick, especially when I am sick at least 3 times a year. But this really is no fun. It's going around to every teacher in the building, so it was only a matter of time before I got it. The sixers are moving on to round 2 of the playoffs. It seems like round 1 took about 2 months. Maybe it did. I am sitting home resting on a perfectly good Saturday. I should be working for GHT, but I don't want to pass this cold on to anyone else. I just finished watching Memento, and I can't say I enjoyed it the second time around. I guess because I knew what the outcome was.

On Thursday, I went to this multicultural event at my school. It was a pretty cool idea, but it was really hot in the classrooms, and I was up there since 7:30 in the morning. It was a 12 hour day, and I was already fighting the cold, so I checked out earlier than expected. One cool thing I was able to do before nearly passing out was get my name written in 9 different languages. It looks pretty nifty. And the food was good. I ate lots of stuff that I didn't know what it was, but it tasted good.

I'm not really in a good mood. Probably the cold and probably another reason involving my girlfriend not seeing me today.
