So this is what it looks like if clouds could poop instead of precipitate

Yup. It is a disgusting day. It snowed about 4 or 5 inches, but it's already melting and there's brown snow everywhere. Just enough to make you shovel. I'm really bored and I'm pretty much waiting to go to my brother's house tonite. I have to teach a lesson for the school I had an interview with last week, and instead of driving thru rush hour traffic tomorrow morning, I'm going to stay 20 minutes away at my brother's.

Last night, Kim & I went there as well. The 4 of us ate @ Chevy's (and this was the first time I'd eaten there) last night, and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. Much better than Chili's in my opinion. Unfortunately, it's still in my digestive system, wreaking havoc. I ate a lot, and I wasn't even sure what some of it was, but it was indeed tasty. Probably the best guacamole I've had, too.

We also saw the movie Hitch last nite, and I was also pleasantly surprised by it. I did not have high expectations, but Kevin James was actually funny, and it was much goofier than I expected. So it was nice to get away for the day, but tomorrow's a big day. Wish me luck please. I really want this job, and sort of need it, too.

My lingering effects of the flu are a cough and stuffy sinuses. It's amazing how long it lasts, even after taking medications. Anyway, my first full week back in school had me subbing in K again, and without any lesson plans again. It's fun trying to improvise in a room full of 5 year old children. I'm sort of hoping I only have a few weeks left in the school. I have an interview with Mr. Thurston Howell III again. It's this Wednesday, but I'm not getting my hopes up since I still haven't had luck on interviews, but if by some chance I get offered the job, I'm definitely taking it. There are some obstacles involved, since it is an hour away from my house, but the job is in a 4th grade from March until the end of the school year, and they are offering a pro-rated contract. I would receive benefits and a salary base of some sort instead of paying $300 a month for COBRA and not getting paid at all if I miss a day. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that all goes well. Please let me luck out this once.

It was confirmed to me the other day exactly how much of a mistake going to grad school was for one semester. Not only did it discourage me from going back for a while, but the stupid student loan is royally screwing me. When I pay off my credit card, I realize I still have that to pay back every month, so it's like I'll never be out of debt with that and my car payments. Oh well, I guess that's what ebay is for. Anyone interested in buying my comic book collection from 15 years ago?

Ok, it's the weekend, and I'm going to enjoy it because next week is a short week. Thanks, President's Weekend!

I flu to Jacksonville to visit T.O.

For the last 3 days I have been statuesque on my couch and/or bed suffering from this little nasty we call influenza. During these 3 days, I have:

  • watched tv or dvds
  • read the newspaper
  • done crossword puzzles
  • checked my email (and now blogged)
  • embibed various liquids (i.e. water, iced tea, hawaiian punch, hi-c orange)
  • taken medication
  • slept
  • listened to various sports "geniuses" bad-mouth Terrell Owens

So I will now address my feeling about the last item in the list. Everyone is calling the guy names and saying he's overrated and he won't be effective. No one is giving the guy credibility in the fact that he's trying to play because he knows he's the best receiver in the game and trying to give his team the edge to win the biggest football game of their lives. As my brother said:

If it were Brett Favre, everyone would be blowing him.

It's ridiculous. In addition to that, very few people are giving the Eagles a chance in the game. So far, I've only heard one person give the Eagles a chance with valid reasons. In my opinion, I think the Pats can be beaten, and I think the Eagles should throw deep on their secondary. So my X-factor for the game is Greg Lewis.

In other news, with all the time I've had sitting around, I came up with what I thought was a good idea-I will write a children's book about Celiac Disease (what my brother & sis-in-law have). Well, after looking up some publishers, I found a publisher that might match up with the idea. Then I went to amazon and found a book's already been made.

Time to head back to the couch.
