If We Ever Wanted To Open a Bed & Breakfast, We'd Be In Trouble

August is here. That means vacations are at prime time. Unfortunately, ours is long gone. Our trip to Toronto was a blast. Great fun. The Jays won the game we actually went to 11-6, but lost the other 3 games of the series to the lowly Devil Rays. The hotel in Rogers Centre was unbelievable-the best hotel I have ever stayed in. Restaurants overlooking the field. Sweet. If I ever find the software for my digital camera, then I'll post some pictures. We ended our vacation in Niagara Falls, which was quite a show. It was boiling out that day, but we got cooled off by the mighty falls. My only regret is that I wish we could have spent more than a day there and less time driving home. Anyway, my summer of doing nothing is over as I had said to myself I will start doing serious work for school once August comes around, and it did, so thus ends my lazy summer. I have a workshop to attend next Wednesday, and then an orientation the entire week that follows. Add to this that I have to set up my classroom and laptop for school and then do plans and research. Blah. I'm excited about starting my first school year, but nervous as hell. Too many questions have been floating about my brain, even during my lazy month of summer...

Moving out/in has been fun in some ways and misery in others. When purchasing our living room furniture, I had a brilliant idea of sleeping in the sofabed until I start getting regular paychecks to pay for a bedroom set. That idea failed after less than a month. Our move in day was technically July 1st, but we didn't actually start staying here until the 8th, and then we were away for about a week, so that is why it has been less than a month. Mattress and boxspring with frame getting delivered today between 11 and 3, so no more sofabed starting today. Hopefully good sleep will follow. I found filling the apt with our own possessions is satisfying, however, buying more possessions to fill the apt with is not pleasurable. That being said, we haven't really been able to afford going out much, so this Saturday is probably our biggest plan to date--going to my brother's drunk-b-q. I may blog more now that I'll be taking breaks between doing work & research, but I have said that before and my last blog was sometime in june.
