Well, the preceding weekend was an unusual sunny day on an otherwise overcast two months of summer. Friday I was able to spend some time with my dad because he wasn't able to work from this blackout I've been hearing about. On Saturday, I went to see my grandmother and my parents, her, my aunt, and I went to dinner for her 91st birthday, which is actually today. When I got home, there was a long box on my front steps from Vagrant Records. I opened it to find an autographed tour poster from my boys Face to Face. I guess I won a contest that Vagrant had. I hadn't heard from them, except for the poster. Nice. Now I have to get a frame for it! Then at night, I saw my honey and we watched the finale of Shark Week. Yesterday was fun. We went to see our heroes known as Hey Mercedes at Maxwell's. The show was awesome. They played many a new song, which sounded smooth, and make me anxious for the new album. October! I also enjoyed the sounds of one of the opening bands called Damone. They even threw in a Weezer cover into their set, and they were rockin' out. As for HM, tight as always and nice guys, too. I'll let Kim tell more about their side when she gets home later.
So that was my weekend. It was a nice little relief from the boring days of summer I had been experiencing.
